After a first reading of Mister Squishy

I finished the David Foster Wallace short story "Mister Squishy" - from Oblivion - several days ago. It is quite good. As always, Wallace is very strong when describing and talking about marketing, advertisements, and the weird uncomfortable influences that corporations and marketers have on our culture (and the isolation that seems to be associated with them).

Regrettably I don't have a copy of the text in front of me (I borrowed it from Greg Jackson), so I can't quote choice lines. I noticed in 'MS' how well Wallace uses short lists in his writing. The other usual suspects - including an overload of acronyms - are present.

Anyhow, here is a powerpoint diagram of the story's characters that I put together to help make sense of things. One big question, of course, is who is responsible for the climber character.
